Long Lake - 2018
A gas explosion nearby caused irreparable damage to the family cabin that previously sat on this lot. The fireplace in the cabin had stones hand picked by the family - with beautiful crystals and colors - a cherished memory we wanted to keep with the family. We painstakingly removed the stones from the old cabin and made sure to re-purpose them in the new fireplace. The home was designed with windowscaping as a priority. Like many lake homes, the view to the lake is central, but neighboring homes can be very close. Large windows lakeside combined with open concept planning maximize views of the lake across multiple entertaining spaces. To minimize the views of the neighboring houses, yet still allow the home to be light filled, the window design is shifted higher. This keeps the light and openness - giving the view of trees and sky, without a direct view of the neighbors.
